Response to Mark Holgate: Favorite Proenza Schouler look

A girl who surfs, recently walked in Proenza Schouler spring collection fashion show. She came right from surfing and throw on her outfit, while her hair remained wet but classy. Mark Holgate blogged that this show was a " Surf Couture." She wore a tie-dyed long sleeve tee-shirt underneath a playful dress. This outfit is magnificent, since we leave close to the shore, many people go surfing when the weather breaks. Why not, leave the beach in a outfit that looks fashionable? This urban scuba outfit just shouts surfer, but also it can be an elegant wardrobe to go somewhere after the beach.

Flirty Styles for the Spring

Fashion is not just a name we throw around every day. It is a symbol of uniqueness and popularity. This 2010, spring is bringing a bright, bold, and spontaneous clothes the public. This season designers are playing with color and are doubling up on animal prints and patterns.

Years ago many people would have thought putting two different prints together would look tacky and clash. But, I am here to tell you it is a new year, new you, new style. So, stop dressing safe and make a statement.

How about wearing a skinny cut button down shirt? Or what about a lacy top? These shirts give you a feminine offbeat charming look. But, that is not the only thing in style. Minidresses, extremely bright neon pants and a cropped jacket. It gives you a simple delicate flirty look. You can sport these outfits anywhere, to school, to dinner, to parties and etc.

What colors to get these outfits in? This 2010 spring, designers choose numerous colors that would bring out the best in the consumers. The colors vary from bright red, blue, pastel, and neutral colors. (Neutral as in colors that are similar to the shade of your skin.) So, mix match until you find a good looks good on you.

Along with these marvelous outfits, you can get accessories. Lots of bangles and animal bracelets on your wrist is hip. Bow headbands also, these headbands make your hair stand out and pop. But, when purchasing a headband make sure its a oversized bow but not to kiddish.

As for the shoes go, high heels, flats, and sneakers are in style. I feel that they will always be in style, simply because you need shoes. Just make sure you get shoes that fit your comfortably and you are able to walk in them. Believe me, not having shoes is disgusting, dangerous, and pretty much uncomfortable. If, you are looking for shoes that goes with every outfit, my best guess is to purchase high heels or flats. I say this because wearing sneakers with a dress is horrific. It looks repulsive and it is not setting a trend, so do not do it.

Now, that you have the latesst flirty trends, you are ready to go to the store and buy a spring wardrobe.

Response to Mark Holgate: Mark Holgate’s Favorite Altuzarra Look

In most of the spring collections, you will find more dresses, and less suits. The temperature in many places are starting to increase and girls as well as women are starting to show more skin. Fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra’s collection took a bold statement to the runway, when he introduced suits. Not dressy suits, but casual every day suits. Mark Holgate blogged about women just not wearing dresses but now and then wearing a couple of jackets. He’s not saying to go out and find the heavy’s jacket you can wear. No, instead just put on a nice thin fitted jacket. Definitely in New Jersey where the weather is not constant. For example, one week its 80 degrees and the next week its in the 50s. So, instead of getting sick in this weather, why not throw on an easy to grab and go jacket? You can wear it to school, to work, or even to special events. In may opinion, its worth the money.

Fashion Lies Within

Fashion is not just a name we through around every day. It’s a symbol of uniqueness and popularity. But, what is the real definition of fashion? I’ll tell you, fashion is a prevailing style. Everyone tends to follow the same fashion sense as the media. For example, the reality TV show the “Jersey Shore,” displayed tanning as well as the “poof,” or “blow out” hair. Now that spring has arrived and summer is on its way, mostly everyone in New Jersey just has to get a tan or the same hair style as the Guido’s.

But, who really declares fashion trends? Personally, I think anyone can set a trend. All you have to do is throw together different garments, and/or do edgy make-up or hair styles. For, instance pop singer Rihanna went with an edgy hair cut. She went from long classy hair, to a short rock star look. Now everyone is cutting their hair. I must admit, I recently cut my hair. Not as short as Rihanna’s but it is shorter than before. Short hair is in style this spring 2010.

However, even though I feel anyone can set a trend. I highly doubt I would be the first to start a new look. Imagine yourself wearing an outrages outfit, into a crowd of people. The crowd will actually stop, look, and point you out just to discuss what you’re wearing. But, that’s all about setting a trend. It has to be fierce
(I use the word fierce as stunning and not violent) statement. Lady Gaga is one of those trend setters. She pushes the limit of fashion to the extreme. Gaga does not care what individuals think of her, and yet her fashion is fabulous. You might not wear it on an everyday basic, but it does fit in on the runway, on the carpet, or the stage.

At Red Bank Regional High School, there a two types of fashion. Some people decide to follow the media, while other starts to create their own. The ones that create their own get many stares and attention from other students. Recently, a girl decided to wear a costume that represented the Buccaneer. As, I walked down the hallway behind her, I heard a couple of kids giggling “Ehww why is she wearing that.” The truth is she wore it because she wants to make a statement, she wants to be trend setter, she wants to be unique, and lastly she wants to create her own identity.

Everyone feels that the media is the ideal fashion. They set the colors that are in style, the trendy outfits, the fabulous hair, and the fierce accessories. But, really fashion lies within oneself. Either you want to grab people’s attention or go with the flow. Just know, either way someone will happen to stare at you and admire your outfit from a distance. So, walk with your head high and strut your stuff!

The Urge to Bankruptcy

Fashion is not a word we throw around every day. It's a symbol of uniqueness and popularity. The spring is here and the summer is on the way, so has the urge hit you? The desire to trade in your long sleeves and boots in for a new style. I know the urge has hit me, but I am to spend my money wisely and so should you. I am here to give you tips and advice on how to catch the bargains.
Many stores have advertisements to grab your attention and lure you into the store. But, do the stores tell you the truth about the clothing? My guess is NO! I am not telling you, that you can't go shopping because I absolutely love and adore shopping. Just be careful what you decide to bring to the checkout line.
Trust me, I knew once you walk through those doors it’s just like you’re a kid in a candy store. The different colors and designs, makes you want to try on absolutely everything.
However the economy is down and a lot of people are out of jobs. So, it is time to put down the expensive bag and shop smartly. What am I talking about?
For one, know what you want before you even walk in the store. For example, you’re going to a party on Saturday and you want to find a nice outfit. Decide if you want it to be casual or formal; if you want it to be a dress or pants. By, deciding what you want before you go, saves time and you won't walk around the store, being tempted to buy different garments.
Secondly, do not, I repeat do not, go to the expensive racks. The same things that are on those racks are mostly likely going to have the same version or a similar version on the clearance rack. By, taking a walk to the clearance racks, you’re making a life time change. You’re saving money for the present as well as the future.
Last and third step, decrease the items you buy. You don't have to go you the store and buy 20 items. (Just breathe in and out.) Put a price range on how much you want to spend. Also, if you put a price range, please do not go over your budget. And, if it helps you should leave your credit cards at home and bring cash.
Shopping can be extremely fun and it also can be aggravating. It depends on how you decide to shop. If you follow those three steps, it will be a new fun experience. Remember, shopping can be your best friend or your nightmare. You chose what you want it to be!
